Facts & Features

Winner of "Award of Excellence in Innovation and Quality of Architecture" and "Best Tourism Development" in 2002, among other awards, the Estoril Congress Centre is located in a high-profile tourist destination known as the Estoril Coast, next to the famous Casino and its surrounding gardens and sea view.

Opened in 2001, the CCE was designed by the distinguished architectural studio Regino Cruz Architects, who designed other buildings such as the Atlantic Pavilion, the Congress Centre of the Algarve and Stadium in Faro, etc. The main objectives for the architectural project of the CCE were specialised meeting areas with a wide flexibility of use, transparency to the outside and large inputs of natural light.

Due to its modern design, equipment and structural orientation, the building is extremely efficient with regard to energy and water use. Even so, some changes were applied to the energy equipment and control of waste in 2007. In keeping with our policy of 2008, the commitment to Sustainability and Business Services, was developing a medium-term plan to modify equipment and other energy resources.

The CCE has facilitated pedestrian access, parking space for vehicles for people with reduced mobility, ramps for access to rooms, elevators properly sized and convenient access to adapted toilets.
